Mami the grilling Queen

No really. She is.

As you know she makes it no secret that she doesn't like to cook and is "allergic" to the kitchen.

But as we mentioned last week, George, sorry I mean Mr George Foreman sent us a shiny new grill for the kitchen. Wasn't sure how mami was going to get on using it, but turns out she loved it! Too much I think.

No lie, she grilled something every day last week. Chicken, hamburgers, steak, courgettes, shrimp and even a cheese sandwich for me!

She kept saying how easy it was to use and liked that she didn't have to check it every second.

She is on some sort of crazy French diet so getting rid of all the grease and fat was perfect for her. That, and the fact that you can take the grill part and stick in in the dishwasher.

So in honour of National Get Grilling Week we ran a competition to give one away and asked everyone to tell us what they would grill. There were some fantastic ideas such as haloumi (that's some sort of Greek cheese) and even fruit!

Tonight we did a random drawing and we are happy to announce that @kateab is the lucky winner!

Please email mami your home address so that George can get one of his grills to you.

Thank you very much to everyone who entered and don't forget to follow @georgegrillsUK on Twitter and on Facebook too!

Fit and fat?

Mami wants to know, can you be fit (in good shape) and be fat?

She's been thinking a lot about this lately. As some of you know, she has been training for the London marathon and this Sunday is the big day.

Some people are surprised to know she is training because they expect her to be lean and thin. Not gordita, or curvy like she is now. One person even said "I expected you to have lost loads of weight".

Ohhhhhhhh! Not the thing to say to mami. She did handle it well though and laughed it off saying "I'm sure I can out run you any day".

But I know she was very upset. I know that she had high hopes of finally losing a few pounds and getting back in shape when she agreed to be sponsored by Nestle to run the marathon.

She and papi have been training, but I'm sad to report, mami hasn't lost any weight and had to buy jeans a bigger size up. I should know, I was with her and it wasn't a pleasant moment.

So why does this happen? I mean she feels healthy overall. She can run for a long time - just last week she did 4 hours! We walk everywhere and she is constantly on the move.

Do you think it's how you are built? Because I've got the biggest tummy I know but I can out run all of my really skinny friends on the playground.

Papi suggested she needed to do "high intensity" work outs because the body gets smart and running doesn't do it anymore.

"Unbelievable!" She yelled out. "I just can't win!"

So now mami is thinking about what to do next. After the marathon she needs to venture into a few fitness regime that works in order to drop those pounds.

But the question still is, can you be fat and fit?

Tell us what you think! In the meantime I will make sure mami stays active.

I tried it! Plum Foods

It’s no secret. I love to eat and I have a big tummy to prove it. I weigh 13.5kilos and as mami says, the scales don't lie.

That's me on the scale!

It was a dream come true to open up a box full of delicious Plum foods a few weeks ago. After all, I am a toddler foodie – and I know what is yummy and what is yucky.

Some of the food mami makes is yucky – I can tell you that! Anything green and I won’t eat it. She tries to fool me and mix it in, but oh no! I pretend to eat it and then I throw it on the floor.

There were lots of different kinds of snacks, cereals, fruit packs and little pots. All have been eaten by the way! And it wasn’t just me – I saw mami eat some few of the biscuits with her tea. I knew it wasn’t just me.
Here are my two favourites:

Mami served me the Four Grain with Mango and Banana Fruity Porridge. It was very yummy and you guessed it, fruity! It reminded me of my baby days. I haven’t had this in a long time because I’ve moved on to toast but it was nice to have for old times sake. Even mami had a bowl because she had run out of her cereal.

Mami liked that it doesn’t have extra sugar and for mamas looking for gluten free food – this is perfect for you!

Then there are my all time favourites, the fruit and vegetable pouches. I could eat those all day long! Mami thinks I don't realise that I'm having vegetables, but they are so yummy and smooth that I dont mind at all (oh yes, and mami says they are really nutritious too!)  I can eat them anywhere and save some for later.

There are some other baby foods which mami use to give me (which I won't name here) and they were YUCKY! I didn't like them and no matter how hungry I was, I would not eat it.

But not with Plum, they taste like daddy could have made them. Apparently they are also good for me (that's what mami says).

Don't believe me? Look how happy I am after having the Lemon Chicken, Sweetcorn and Tarragon!  Or is that the Mango and Banana? I can't remember, but I do know it was gooooood!

Yum and Fun!

You can read more about Plum at http://www.plum-baby.co.uk/. If you really want, you can also become a Plum Mum and taste them for yourself! I really recommend that you do.

bye bye

"gordo" (it means chubby in Spanish and that is mami's nickname for me)

Say hello to my sister, Little L!

It's been a very long time. My days as a blogger are over (at least I think they are?) — I'm now mami's sort of photographer (I...
