Rainy day walk in the woods

We've been at grandma and grandpa's house for a week and we have had lots of sun every day!

We even went to the beach it was the hot. Mami says it's very early for us to be at the beach, but we've been enjoying it! Mami even buried me in the sand!

Today though, the clouds came out and when I woke up I peeked out the window and it was RAINING! And not just a little bit. Nope. I was so much I couldn't really see clear. I wanted to go play outside, but papi said we would wait until later to jump in the puddles.

And that's just what we did. It took long enough, but we finally headed out for walk in the woods. All of us had our boots and I made to sure to stomp in every muddy puddle that I could find.

Pudding jumping!
We saw lots of insects, like ants, dragon flies, spiders and I even found a snail but I accidentally let go of him and he fell in the water.

I hope Mr Snail is okay and that he was able to swim back to shore.

Looking for insects!

I also saw a baby pine tree that papi said will grow to be big and tall and have lots of pine cones and right next to it was a huge ANT hill. There were tiny ants everywhere! I asked mami to "get ant mami" but she said "Noooooo, Little M. I'm not touching the ants!" and we both stepped back and watch them crawl on our boots.

I don't know about you, but I love family walks and spending time alone with mami and papi. Papi is going to start his new job soon and that means he will go to the office everyday like he used to in London.

I am going to miss him very, very, very, very much, but mami and I will be waiting for him when he gets home at night.

What do you like to do with your family?

Bust a move! Curious George Dance Contest

Who doesn't love to bust a move? Mami is always dancing around and I have a few sweet moves I like to bring out, especially when we have guests over.

When I was really little, I would go with mami to a "Mummy and Me Salsa" class in London. Even though I couldn't walk yet, she would put me in a sling and we would dance away.

I liked the turns and the smooth swaying we would do. I would just yell out with excitement and enjoy the bumpy ride! So you can see why I love to dance so much.

And when I was able to walk, I would dance at my nursery school and at the end of the year we put on a special show.  It was so much fun to see mami and papi watching ME perform and showing off. Everyone liked it so much that they clapped and clapped. That just made me want to dance even more!

To be honest, I think I'm pretty good at it.

So naturally we said YES when Curious George himself asked mami and I to join him in inviting parents and guardians to enter a video of your kid(s) dancing to the Curious George theme song for the Curious George Dance Contest for a chance to be featured on a Curious George DVD.

HOW COOL IS THAT?!

So get camera ready and show off your best moves! You have until the 2nd of April to submit your video.

A panel of judges will review the video submissions and pick 10 finalists. Then, starting April 16th through April 30th, George’s friends and fan (the us viewers) will vote for the winner.

All finalists will receive a Curiosity Kit, filled with a Curious George book, game, DVD, and other fun George merchandise.

Oh AND, you might even win a visit from George himself!

Entering is super easy and you must do so at the Curious George Dance Contest SiteFrom there you can see just how to download the theme song and upload the video.

Now get rocking and buena suerte!

Getting messy making MUD PIES!

* Trendy Toddler Tuesday is on at Very Busy Mamá*

It's been so sunny here. I'm not used to having lots of sun all of the time. In London we bright days, but never this much. Phewwww! I'm hot, I keep asking mami to put on "air cold" in the car. None of this window down business.

Anyway, last week I went over to my friend Trey's house. His mami is TC from The Mommies Made Me Do It  (they ALWAYS do fun things!) and we planted flowers, dug up some worms, ran through the sprinklers and had TWO ice creams. I wore my swimming trunks, hat and I was ready to go!

Mami let me get as muddy, sticky and dirty as I wanted. Good thing because I was going to do it anyway. At the very end, and this is the BEST part of the day, we made MUD PIES!

Trey's mami let us put real glitter and sprinkles on them and then we even put five candles. We were going to pretend it was mami's birthday.

We lit them and even sang! But then mami said she was going to eat a piece and before she put a piece of mud in her mouth I said, "No mami. That's not chocolate. That's MUD!"

Good thing I told her, otherwise it would have been yucky.

What fun and messy activities have you done recently?

Win a family 4 pack of tickets to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in Fairfax!

I've never been to the circus....but I know that Peppa and George have gone and I've seen clowns on TV so I can't wait to see it in real life!

I've been (well, mami and papi too) invited to see the Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus Fully Charged show at the George Mason Patriot Center on the 4th of April (they are at the Verizon Center this week until the 18th of March and will also perform at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland from the 21st of March to the 1st of April).

The Greatest Show On Earth encourages families to disconnect from the digital world for an afternoon and enjoy the FUN!

Here are all the details of the show:

Fully Charged is an all-new surge of circus entertainment where megawatts of thrills explode off of the arena floor with breathtaking dare-devilry, superhuman stunts and never-before-seen performances that energize Children Of All AgesThe 141st Edition of The Greatest Show On Earth is the most electrifying edition of Ringling Bros. ever to come to DC!

Fully Charged is lead by dynamo newcomer, Brian Crawford Scott, only the 36th Ringmaster in the 141-year history of Ringling Bros. The amazing acts of Fully Charged include Tabayara, a dynamic animal trainer whose rare ability to communicate with animals allows him to ride rearing stallions at a fully-charged gallop, orchestrate majestic four-ton Asian elephants in a symphony of dance, and stand eye to eye in a cage with 12 ferocious tigers.

Ever wonder how many clowns it takes to change a light bulb? The hilarious hoopla continues to flow as the clowns from the world-famous Ringling Bros. Clown Alley, charge up the audiences’ funny bones with hysterical silly antics and clownish comedy.

Oh and get there early so you can take part in the All Access Power Up Pre-Show Party that starts one hour before the show and lets us, the audience members meet and take photos with performers, try on circus costumes and  learn circus skills. Yippeee!

How to make a PILLOW MONSTER!

** If you are looking for Trendy Toddler Tuesday,
please visit Very Busy Mamá where it is being held this week**

Mami isn't the best at coming up with fun crafts, but every once in a while she does get an idea and it turns out to be GOOD!

This week we made a PILLOW MONSTER! And it's just what you think it is...a pillow monster. Simple and fun.

This is how we made it so you can try it too.

What you need:
An old pillow
An old long sleeved shirt - best if striped or with a pattern (this is the monster's body)
Rubber bands
Multi colored felt
Glue gun or felt glue

How to make the pillow monster:
Put the shirt over the pillow
Sew or glue the top if the neck is too wide
Put rubber bands on wrists
Cut out circles for the eyes - make them any shape or layer one on top of other
Cut out a funky nose
Cut out mouth and add fangs!
Cut long stripes of different color felt for the hair and fingers

Use glue gun or felt glue and paste eyes, nose, mouth and hair to the pillow. Mami did this because it's very dangerous for me.

After it was dry she went back and did some light sewing to make sure all the pieces stay in place.

Then the pillow monster is done. Check mine out!

Then take your pillow and SNUGGLE!

Cool, right?

And you if like this idea, we would love for you to share it by tweeting or posting on Facebook - just use the icons below! We are so proud of this!!

Trendy Toddler Tuesday Week 11: Bring on Spring!

Mami and I are still planning some changes to this blog, that's why it's been quiet here for some time. But don't worry, we are still out and having fun!

We noticed that we miscounted our Trendy Toddler posts - but I've gone back and fixed those. Anyway, this weekend we we were out again exploring in Washington, DC and we ventured into Maryland and went to Great Falls. I actually saw a waterfall...it was so cool!

Sunday we went shopping, but this time it was for me! I picked up a pair of cool shades that look just like mami's...well, the one's I broke back in London (I remember because mami kind of cried when she found them on the floor, oops!) We also got short trousers. I thought they were baby pants, but mami said they were for "the summer". Then papi suggested a few polos that look just like his.

We got everything on "mega sale" as mami said from The Children's Place. I don't think I have ever been in there and mami said she couldn't believe she had not shopped there before.

Bring on Spring!

My new shades

Stripes!
Bright polos

Skull design shorts

Their motto is Big Fashion, Little Prices

Each of the shirts were $7 and the shorts $13

But it doesn't end there! Mami wants to go back to get this blazer:

Can I wear this to the playground?
And these boat shoes...

I'm going to end up looking like my tata, tío Tomás and papi all at once!

So what will you be wearing this spring? SHOW US!
