A Prince got Married!

Today was a big day here in the UK.

A Prince named William (he's going to be King one day) got married!

All week at nursery we have been talking about Princes and Princesses. Did you know they live in big castles and ride horses?! Wow!

We got up in the morning and mami and I decorated the living room with blue, red and white flags and I helped stick them on the door and windows.

I put on my crown I made at nursery. After all I am mami's Prince!

That's not really them, only pretend

Helping put up the Union Jack flags

I made my very own crown!

Now, by the way mami was talking about this "Royal Wedding" I thought we had been invited. I was waiting to put on my best shoes and asking papi for my jacket to go out. But it turns out we were just going to watch it on TV!

WHAT?! Come on mami, really? Arggggg, I should have known better.

I thought we were GOING to the wedding

Even papi watched!

Anyway after being let down by the news that we were not going, I went about my usual morning. I coloured, had my milk and snack and played with the magnets on the refrigerator door.

Mami and papi were talking in the front room and I heard mami say "It's just beautiful, I didn't think I would feel so happy". All I saw was a lot of ladies in funny hats.

I came over and joined mami when the Prince and Princess were on the balcony waving at us.

So I waved back too!

Where is his crown?

And being the only real Brit in this house, I was happy to see that papi had prepared a special celebration afternoon tea...mmmmmm cake!

Yummy!

I heard there were street parties all over the UK but I passed on the local festivities and took a nap instead. Just as good if you ask me!

So how did you spend your day? Where you as happy as us?

It was a fun time wasn't it?!

Come LolliBop with us!

Calling all families!

I don't know about you, but mami, papi and I love to have fun as a family and are always looking for new activities and places to visit.

So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that this summer for 3 days from the 5th - 7th of August, Regents Park in London will be transformed  into LolliBop, THE festival for us little ones.

It is the only festival in the UK where all of the entertainment is JUST FOR US!

We are very lucky to have been specially invited and named Official LolliBop Family, but we won't be alone. Over 2,000 people are set to go each day.

And that's a whole loooooooot of people. (Shhhh, don't tell mami, she doesn't really like big crowds and I really want to go).

Right now tickets are going fast, but you can get yours for £19! Just use the code LOLLIBLOG when you buy from Ticketmaster (you have to use the big letters).

It is set to go down in fun history!

Check out who else will be there:

I personally really want to meet Peppa and George. Mami has good luck meeting celebrities and I hope some of that rubs off on me.

Fingers crossed!

See you there!

Vamos a la playa!

This weekend I went to the world's BIGGEST sandbox!

I'm not kidding, it was HUGE! It didn't even compare to the one at my park.

The sand never ended and there was even blue water splashing up on the edges that went up to the sky. I had never seen anything like this.

Every step I took I sank into the sand a little bit more and it tickled my feet. I just stood there staring quietly. I was covered in Nivea sun cream, a big hat and a funny looking outfit called a "wetsuit"

Mami knelt down next to me and whispered "Little M, estamos en la playa y ahí está el mar" /"we are at the beach, and there is the sea"

Wowwwwwwwww I said to myself. So this is what mami and papi had been talking about all week.

"Vamos a la playa, oh, oooooh, ooooh... vamos a la playa, si!"

Mami had been singing that to me for a few days and I thought ok mami, I have no idea what you are talking about. And just played along.

But then, we arrived at this so called playa. And it was just... amazing. So much better than I ever could have imagined!

And then the fun began!

I ran to the water and it was freeeeeeezing! I started shaking I was so cold.

But I didn't care, I wanted to splash all day long. I screamed when the waves hit my legs!
I was so excited I kept saying "mami, agua, mami agua" I wanted mami to go into the water too.

And she did. We ran up and down the beach splashing and jumping in the olas or waves.

I took a little break and with my amigo Little G and we filled our buckets with sand and papi helped us dig a big hole that we filled with water.

Later papi and I went for a walk. We talked about a lot of things.

He's very smart, he told me all about the cloud formations and we chased gaviotas/seagulls.

And everywhere I went I left a trail of my feet. I kept stepping and they just kept appearing, it was like magic!

And after all that chasing gaviotas and jumping in the olas, I needed a good old fashioned siesta

I curled up in mami's arms and just closed my eyes.

Phewwwwww. A day at the playa is exhausting. But I cannot WAIT to go back!

¡Vamos a la playa por favor!
Let's go to the beach please!

Forever and ever

Ahh, nothing better than bathtime.

Some nights I want to stay in there forever. The water is so warm and I don't want to be cold.

I just want to lay in my tub and block mami's voice telling me to get out.

I lean back and let the water cover my ears.  It feels so comfortable and so natural to me.

The movement of the water is relaxing and it reminds me of another place and time, but I'm not exactly sure where.

I like to call this my "water bed" because it feels just as cozy as my real bed.

I really could stay in here forever and ever.

How do you like to relax?

My personalised Fairy Non Bio toybox!

I just have to tell you about a very special gift that I received.

It was a very big box and it was wrapped in the popping plastic wrap that I like.

Fairy Non Bio, the makers of washing detergent and softeners sent me my very own toybox!

Soooo cool!

I've never had a toybox, I normally just put my toys in a basket or an old box, so you can imagine my excitement! Mami seems overly excited, but she's weird sometimes.

I opened the box and inside there was Winnie the Pooh! And three of the new Winnie the Pooh audiobooks you can get free with Fairy Non Bio.

Now for the BEST part of all - the box was made ESPECIALLY for me, and me only.

How do I know?

Because it has the name of our blog on it!

Mami and I ran around the apartment collecting all of my toys and putting them in the box. It took some time because I leave things everywhere I go.

Once we were done it was time for bed, and I sat on my toybox to rest up a bit.

Phewwwww! Tidying up takes a lot out of me.

Thank you Fairy for sending this to me!

Toes!

I think summer may be coming because mami and I both wore shoes that show your toes.

Mami says she wants to eat my toes. "They are so yummy!" she says and bites them.

Whaaaat?! Strange mami.

I just laugh it off but I really hope she is not serious.

That's me on the right and mami is on the left in case you weren't sure.

Are your toes ready for the summer?

London Marathon vlog: Mami at the finish!

Mami after crossing the finish line

26.2 miles done!

Videos

Marathon mami!

Mami did it!

She ran the London marathon along with fellow blogger Mirka for the Nestle Pure Life team and made it in one piece. No blisters or bleeding. Just a smile on her face.

I wasn't there to see her run because papi said it would be too crowded and very hot. Point taken,  I don't do well in the heat.

"AMAZING!" she shouted when she got home. She could barely move but she looked so happy.

"I feel like a superstar, I would do it all over again, pain and all!" she said hugging papi.

"I couldn't have done this without you you know. Thank you for training with me. I love you"

Then, they kissed. On the mouth. Ewwwwwww!

Anyway, who better than to tell you about it but mami. That's right, she vlogged along the way, so check out her videos!

Re-live the marathon!

I hope one day I can run like mami and papi.
I wonder how long I have to train for?

They still look happy!

One year ago we began this blog

I can't believe it - one year ago, on the 18th of April 2010 I began this blog for mami. She had been talking about "starting a blog" for some time, but never got around to it because as she put it, "I am too busy".

I thought, I know how to use a computer and a Blackberry so why not blog for her?

And so Mummy's Busy World began. I blogged about our busy lives and she tweeted. I thought I might hand it over to her, but this has worked out really well for us. We love it!

We were reading the posts from this time last year and mami got really sentimental seeing what we were up to then.

That's me this time last year - I was working on my first blog post

Going back to work, me at nursery, our days together and even some scary moments like when I fell and chipped my front tooth and when I got hand, foot and mouth disease. Yuck!

Amazing to see how much we have changed, how much bigger I've got (and how much more hair I have) all of the people we have met and all of the fantastic opportunities presented to us which would not have been possible otherwise - biggest one being mami being sponsored by Nestle Pure Life to run the London marathon which she did yesterday! (more on that this week)

I could go on and on about this, but we just want to thank everyone who reads our silly stories, ( I know, I talk about poop, a lot) and takes the time to stop by and say hello - we are very grateful!

We will be celebrating all week and I have have a little giveaway too.

So on the first anniversary of our blog we want to know why you started your blog and what has been the highlight of your year.

Leave us a comment below and share your first blog post if you want!

And if you are curious, here's my first ever blog post.

Who wears short shorts?

It's Flashback Friday over at Cafe Bebe's and this is the first time we have joined in.

There are enough baby pictures of me floating around so I had to dig a little deeper to find pictures of mami.

What I really wanted was to show you a picture of mami when she was little like me. I looked in all the files on the computer but didn't see any.

Then I found a box in her room with lots of pictures on small pieces of glossy paper. I had never seen a picture on paper - I guess in the old days pictures would be printed.

Wow, mami, just how old ARE you?

Anyway, so here it is! Mami with my tío (uncle) Tomás when she was 3 years old.

Mami says her mami spent all her time with him and she didn't like that one bit. Once she even filled up his crib with all of his toys while he was still in it!

Today my uncle is really big and has lots of muscles so I know mami wouldn't dare do that to him again.

I wonder when I am going to get a brother or sister? I am going to have to talk to mami about this so she can arrange to have one delivered to us. I hear it takes about 9 months, so the sooner the better!

Enjoy the flashback and please excuse mami's short shorts - not sure what she was thinking!

Everyone poops

OKAY, I DID IT! I I have finally done caca in my Ducky potty! (and a little pee pee too)

Mami couldn't believe it, she's been waiting almost a week for me to do it. She just flew off the sofa and starting clapping and jumping up and down saying "muy bien Little M, muy bien, hiciestes caca!/you did poop".

Papi also got up from the computer and came over to say "Good job, Little M. You are a big boy" and ran to the kitchen to get some dulces or candy as they had promised.

One of my favourite books all about poop! (but I have the one in Spanish)

All that noise scared me at first. I thought I had done something wrong, but I saw mami smiling and cheering me on, so I knew this is what she had been waiting for.

So of course I also joined in the celebrations and we all danced around the potty. I even did my special booty shake which is always a real crowd pleaser. Mami wouldn't stop kissing me!

But then I just stopped and stared at it. I looked up at mami and papi and said "Caca? Ewwww!"

It's actually really yucky - I mean, I've seen it before, but it really smells. I can't believe I've been sitting in that for 2 years! The things us kids have to go through. Geez.

But now, I am ready to get out of these nappies. So mami, let's get this training started and keep the dulces coming!

P.S. Fisher Price sent me this special potty which has music and when I get bigger I can use on it on the big toilet too!

Fit and fat?

Mami wants to know, can you be fit (in good shape) and be fat?

She's been thinking a lot about this lately. As some of you know, she has been training for the London marathon and this Sunday is the big day.

Some people are surprised to know she is training because they expect her to be lean and thin. Not gordita, or curvy like she is now. One person even said "I expected you to have lost loads of weight".

Ohhhhhhhh! Not the thing to say to mami. She did handle it well though and laughed it off saying "I'm sure I can out run you any day".

But I know she was very upset. I know that she had high hopes of finally losing a few pounds and getting back in shape when she agreed to be sponsored by Nestle to run the marathon.

She and papi have been training, but I'm sad to report, mami hasn't lost any weight and had to buy jeans a bigger size up. I should know, I was with her and it wasn't a pleasant moment.

So why does this happen? I mean she feels healthy overall. She can run for a long time - just last week she did 4 hours! We walk everywhere and she is constantly on the move.

Do you think it's how you are built? Because I've got the biggest tummy I know but I can out run all of my really skinny friends on the playground.

Papi suggested she needed to do "high intensity" work outs because the body gets smart and running doesn't do it anymore.

"Unbelievable!" She yelled out. "I just can't win!"

So now mami is thinking about what to do next. After the marathon she needs to venture into a few fitness regime that works in order to drop those pounds.

But the question still is, can you be fat and fit?

Tell us what you think! In the meantime I will make sure mami stays active.

Caca on demand?!

Lately I have been losing my patience.

When mami doesn't change my poopy nappy right away I just take it off myself. I don't like the mushy feeling and really, would YOU want to sit around on a big pile of poo? I don't think so.

I've given her plenty of warning. When I feel that I am going to do something, I loudly announced that I am doing caca.

Still, she just changes me and ignores the fact that I have pulled off my nappy 3 times in past week.

But this weekend she finally got it together and I have been spending lots of time on the special Ducky Potty that Fisher Price sent me, or the pelela as it's called in Spanish.

There it is, my potty. Completely empty and clean

Problem is, every time mami sits me on it I don't have to go. Does she just expect me to poo on demand?!
I spent an hour running around without my nappy on Saturday morning and nada. Then again in the afternoon and nothing.

Papi was terrified that I was "going to do something" on their bed or on the carpet. Please papi, give me some credit!

Then at night we went out and... boom! Caca happened. Mami had been waiting for it all day, but she just wasn't lucky enough to have me sitting on the potty at the time.

Sorry mami! Better luck next time.

And so it continues. Mami has offered dulces or candy if I do caca, but I just haven't felt the need to.

I'll let you know if anything happens this week, I just really don't like being pressured.

Sun safety with Nivea

With all this talk about getting out in the sun and Vitamin D, mami didn't forget to put sun cream on me.

Papi says that I'm "practically transparent" and that I have to avoid getting sunburned.

That's me playing in the sun and I didn't get red

I really don't like being slathered with gooey creams, but mami used the new Nivea Sun Kids Pure and Sensitive spray and it doesn't feel as slimy.

This is a new range of sun protection creams that are ideal for sensitive skin like mine, but still have an SPF of 50+. They give immediate protection from the sun - and that's completely unique to Nivea Sun!
I know mami has had problems with sun creams being harsh on her face but this one is 100% perfume free, it doesn't have colourants or preservatives and that helps to reduce the chances of skin allergies, especially for us kids!

Better yet, when it does get really hot and we go to the pool or the beach, it has a special formula that makes it very water resistant. You still have to reapply, but it lasts a long time.

You can get the spray or the creams exclusively at Boots stores.

I don't know about you, but I can't WAIT for summer to begin!

This is a sponsored post, however mami and I both are sun aware and have used and like Nivea Sun Kids products

Winne the Pooh on the BIG screen

Winne the Pooh movie poster

Yesterday we got up early and took the choo-choo train to Leicester Square in Central London.

I was invited by Proctor and Gamble, along with Fairy Non Bio and Fabric Softener and Disney to see the premier of the new Winnie the Pooh on a very very VERY large TV screen. Mami said we were going to the "movies".

Once we got there I got to ride moving stairs. I was nervous at first, but I held papi's hand as the stairs moved upwards and then we were on another floor.

Eating a bag of popcorn

The room was dark with lots and lots of chairs. We sat and mami opened up a bag of some sort of snack, I took a bite and it make a cracking sound in my mouth...mami looked at me and said "that's popcorn".

Papi didn't want me to have any because he was worried I was going to choke. But I wanted to show him that I could eat it and I made sure to chew them very carefully - I was so careful I ate the entire bag.

I couldn't believe how big Winnie the Pooh looked on this screen! It was sooooo cool!

The movie was lots of fun and even mami and papi were laughing - I can't blame them, Tigger was really  funny and Piglet and Rabbit were really silly, especially when they were looking for Eyore's tail.

This movie will be out for everyone to see in the summertime. Don't forget to add it to your list!

I am so happy I was able to see it first, especially with both mami and papi there with me.

Say hello to my sister, Little L!

It's been a very long time. My days as a blogger are over (at least I think they are?) — I'm now mami's sort of photographer (I&...
