Last year I convinced mami to go to CyberMummy and boy was she happy she went!
For our friends outside of the UK or those of you who don't blog, CyberMummy is the UK's premier blogging conference for parent bloggers and there will be about about 400 or so of them all together!
This year mami has been sponsored by emla you know the "magic" cream that makes getting vaccinations less painful.
So here's mami!
Name: Mami. Well, no, her real name is Maria Jose Ovalle

hate needles, love emla
It's May, which means it's almost June, which means it's time for CYBERMUMMY!
For those of you who may not know, it is the UK's first conference for blogging parents and in my case, kids!
Last year I had to convince mami to go. She wasn't very sure, but I advised her that it was best for her to go and meet so many of our blog friends!
This year we have been very lucky to be sponsored by emla.
I wish we had known about them sooner. See, emla is a special cream that goes on your skin BEFORE getting your vaccinations and it takes away the pain. It's like magic!
I cannot tell you how many times I have had needles stuck into me and it HURTS! OOOOOUCH!
And it doesn't just help those who are getting the shots but it helps ease the nerves of people who are afraid of needles, like papi. Just the thought of a needle makes him lightheaded and he needs to take a seat.
Mami says it's just an act, but I've seen him get really pale. Poor papi.
Anyway, it's also good for when you donate blood or have to get travel vaccinations. I had to get a few before going to Chile and it was not fun!
This is how it works:
First you have to make sure that the area of the skin you are going to apply the cream is clean and dry. If you are a little hairy, you may have to shave the area before putting on the cream. Sorry!
Squeeze half a 5g tube of emla cream onto the area where the needle will go, but only about the size of a 50p coin.
For more specific instructions, depending on age, part of the body or procedures, usage timings may be as little as 10 minutes, but check the leaflet to be sure.

Take one of the bandages and remove the centre cut-out piece. Peel the protective paper away from the underside. Cover the emla cream with the dressing so that you get a thick layer underneath.
Do not spread out the cream. Press down the edges firmly to avoid leakage.
Remove the paper frame. They suggest you write the time of application onto the dressing.
Remember that emla must be applied at least one hour before the procedure and can be left in place for up to five hours for adults and four hours for children.
The longer the cream stays on, the better the anaesthetic effect. That means you won't feel it.
emla is available without a prescription from your local pharmacy and they will also be at CyberMummy! But if you do have any questions, you can ask mami.
Have you tried emla? What did you think? Let us know!

Countdown to CyberMummy
Since little ones can't attend the CyberMummy Conference, my mami is going on my behalf. Remember, I am the blogger here! She just provides the material.
She has a bit of a funny laugh, but don't be scared off. She may break out in impromptu song and dance, but its over very soon. She is a proud Gleek, likes to run for excercise, loves the theatre, had a big collection of pretty bags and shoes, and she takes her coffee with milk, no sugar.
She'll see you soon!
Carly at Mummy's Shoes had the good idea to do a little virtual meet and greet in order to get more acquainted with all of the mummy's attending. It's difficult to keep track - I should know!
So here she is, my mami!
Her name: Maria Jose Ovalle
My blog: Mummy's Busy World by me, Little M
She tweets for me: @verybusymama
She insisted I wear that monkey costume - I wasn't thrilled.
Let see, she is about 5ft tall, brown hair and green eyes. Oh, and she speaks English with an American accent.

My mami at CyberMummy
It's just me, the computer and my bottle of milk
I have neglected mami for most of the day today to work on the blog. Oh, but don't worry, she is in good hands with daddy!
Over the past few weeks I have been trying to convince mami to attend the CyberMummy Conference on July 3rd at Earls Court in London. I can now happily report that the CyberMummy badge is on the blog, registration is complete and she is ready to go. Took her long enough!
This is the UK’s first one day conference for blogging mummies. It’s not just for the more experienced bloggers (otherwise we couldn’t go) but for newbie bloggers too! After realising tots where not allowed to attend, I quickly had to persuade her to attend on our behalf, and thankfully she took my advice!
We are so close to the venue it would be a shame for her not to be there, but more importantly to meet all of the nice mummies who have been reading my blog and talking to her on twitter.
I see from the schedule that the day will be fully packed with exciting presentations and more importantly vino time!
I hope everyone has a great time and gets a chance to meet my mami - she’s very friendly and funny too!
And just in case you still doubt who it is that writes this blog, check out the picture. It's just me, the computer and my bottle of milk.
